I could probably end my post here. Really. They're just that disgusting. However, I'll elaborate just in case you might ever in the future be: a) considering buying frozen mushrooms or b) be in a situation where you actually have to eat one.
Sometime ago I bought a package of frozen stir-fry vegetables because while I do prefer fresh veggies (although studies show that frozen is nutritionally equivalent to fresh), there are just some days where I'm either too tired, or quite possibly too lazy, to do any more prep work than necessary. In my quest to eat through my pantry while buying as few new ingredients as possible, I thought I'd combine some left over chicken that I had from making chicken piccata with frozen veggies.
Considering that I whipped this up in less than 10 minutes, I didn't think it was half bad until I got to a bite of mushroom. I can't even describe it. It was chewy, rubbery, spongy, and tasted horrible. I couldn't even bring myself to swallow it -- and since I'm 1/2 goat, that's pretty bad.
Take my advice: Just say NO!
